Why this shape: The relaxed two-island version. A full week on Tenerife around your friend's kite days, then a single 1h20 ferry to Gran Canaria and a week there, flying home from Las Palmas (LPA) so there's no backtracking. One ferry, two airports, zero stress.

Car plan: rent with your friend on Tenerife for 2-3 days (split it), drop it before the ferry. On Gran Canaria grab a scooter or a 1-day car only for the mountain interior (Roque Nublo / Tejeda). No one-way rentals.

If you'd rather see more: this is the easy-pace cut. Version A adds Fuerteventura (Sotavento kite) + Lanzarote (Timanfaya) for a third week.
